Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular therapy is a form of therapeutic massage therapy, which directly affects the nervous system along with the muscles being treated.

Extremely tight and contractured muscles and their related connective tissue covering can be extremely difficult to release unless the nerves supplying them are calmed down. Dysfunctions that exist in unhealthy painful muscles have some degree of neurological overstimulation resulting from the existence of dysfunctions. Neuromuscular therapy techniques will interfere with the nervous system, calming it down, so that the muscular work can be done.

Neuromuscular therapy is often used in conjunction with shockwave therapy in severe instances of muscular dysfunctions. Together, they have the ability to break a complex neurological pattern referred to as the pain-spasm cycle.

We employ the highly specialized techniques of neuromuscular therapy to help us successfully resolve conditions which include carpal tunnel syndrome, whiplash, and back pain to name a few.
